Delete your Khilo account
You can delete your Khilo account, and the personal data that goes with it, at any time. This page says how, and what happens to your data.
How to delete your account
- In the Khilo app, open Profile › Settings › Terms & Conditions › Delete Account.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then press Delete My Account.
If you sign in with Apple, you are then asked to confirm with Apple too, so that Khilo’s access to your Apple ID can be removed. If you back out at that step, nothing is deleted.
Without the app
Sign in at khilo.io with the same account and follow the same steps. This works even if you no longer have the app.
Sign in to delete your account
Can’t sign in? Email support@khilo.io from the address on your account and we’ll help you delete it.
What happens next
Your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out on every device. It is permanently erased 30 days later.
Changed your mind? Sign back in within those 30 days and the deletion is cancelled.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in, your profile, your username and your referral code
- Your workout history, strength records and Lift Rating history
- Your routines and exercises, including those you built for your clients and your copies of other members’ routines
- Your body measurements and their history
- Your follows, followers, favourites and blocks, and your connected social accounts, whose access we also withdraw with YouTube, Instagram or TikTok
- What you published to the community, your public profile and your leaderboard entries
- Personal trainer invitations you sent or received, and reports and bug reports you filed
- Files you uploaded, and any copy of your data waiting to be downloaded
- Our copy of your subscription and billing details
What is kept
A small amount of information outlives the deletion. Nothing in this list identifies you to other users.
- Records of referral bonuses earned by people you referred stay with their accounts, because they determine rewards those members were promised. Each goes when that member’s own account is deleted.
- Moderation decisions, leaderboard removal records and reports about what you published are kept as an audit trail for 2 years after the decision, and then deleted. The record of any store purchase our support team moved between accounts is kept with our payment records, for 6 years.
- A leaderboard you created, with its routine, stays with its other members: it passes to a remaining member, longest-standing first, or is archived if none of them can take it over. One with no other members is deleted.
- If you paid on the web, the customer record Stripe keeps for us, with your payment history, is not deleted with your account. It is our record of payments made to us, which UK tax and accounting law requires us to keep. We keep it for six years after the end of the financial year in which you last paid, and then delete it.
Your subscription
A subscription billed on the web or through Google Play is cancelled when your account is permanently erased, 30 days after you ask. It can renew before then, so to avoid another charge, cancel it first: on the web in Profile › Settings › Subscription, or in Google Play.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store. Apple does not let us cancel it, so it keeps renewing until you cancel it yourself in your App Store subscription settings (on an iPhone or iPad: Settings › your name › Subscriptions).
Client slots a personal trainer bought through Google Play or the App Store are a subscription of their own, and end the same way as the plan. Deleting your account does not refund any unused subscription period, except where the law requires it.
